Review

Municipal wines should be on your radar for high quality and interesting wines. The focal point is Strathbogie Ranges and winemaker Matt Froude seems to eke out some distinct expressions from that place. The recent new releases see some shifts in tempo, with a couple of wines under flor, and a suite of skin contact wines, like this one (around ten days on skins).

Delicious wine, zips and nips and ducks and weaves. Heaps of energy. Pretty pink blush in the glass. Scents of pear, strawberry, rose hip tea, with flavours that do the same. Squeaky texture, quite a bit of skinsy pucker but also a strong juiciness and cool, fresh finish. Delicious, lively, fragrant and pretty wine to drink with ease of consumption the byline. Really good, anyway you come at it.

Gorgeous copper pink colour. Subtle perfume of red berry and pears with whiffs of nougat or similar. Palate is textural, chewy, lovely and long. Skinsy grip a wonderful feature and the finish is bright, a starburst of tart and tangy. Subtle and beautiful flavours here. Delicious.
